China

So I've decided to provide a little bit of extra info for those interested. Eric and I are going to China to teach English for 4 months! We are super excited and more than a little nervous. The purpose of this trip is Eric's internship. He is an international studies major and therefore needs a cultural expereince for his internship. I didn't want him to leave me for 3 months so we needed to find an internship that allowed me to come with. That is easier said then done apparently. It took awhile to find a program that allowed spouses to come and participate.
Though China may not have been our first choice it was the one that made the most sense. After we looked into it for awhile and studied out our other choices we determined that this was the best fit for us. However, we were a little late in the game. We only had a week to turn in our application before the deadline. Thank goodness Eric and I both know some amazing people willing to send in letters of recommendations on such short notice!  Needless to say the application process was a bit rushed, but when we finished we were thrilled with ourselves.
We waited for a little over a week which truly tried our patience. FINALLY we revieced the acceptance letter. To be completely honest China Horizons has impressed us immensely with their prompt responses, though in the moment it felt as though we were waiting forever. After we were accepted we spent the rest of the day ignoring studying and homework to figure out all the details and send in our acceptance.
We will be leaving around the 20th of August and returning the 1st of January. So far we have not found out the area we will be teaching in or exactly what to expect. However, our goal is to make the most of this opportunity. It seems a little crazy to both of us that we will be going there for such a long time, but we are excited for this new adventure. Anyways that about sums it up for now, more info to come on this subject when we find it out for ourselves!

Now that my life is starting to change a little and isn't all about school anymore, I've decided to create a blog. Warning to all those who attempt to follow my blog... I may not be great at this, but I am going to give it a try!
